She has expertise in complex and advanced techniques in cataract surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery and premium intraocular lens implantation. Her glaucoma training also makes her an expert in interventional glaucoma, which includes cutting-edge surgical and non-surgical techniques in glaucoma treatment. She also performs minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), laser treatments, traditional and implant glaucoma surgery. Dr. Bedrood received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry and chemistry at University of California Los Angeles and went on to obtain her medical school training with a combined MD/PhD degree at the Keck School of Medicine at USC. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at Doheny Eye Institute/USC + LA County Hospital. She completed her glaucoma fellowship as a prestigious Society of Heed Fellow from the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She would go on to be an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the USC Roski Eye Institute, where she continues to teach ophthalmic surgical training to resident physicians. Dr. Bedrood is an invited speaker at multiple national conferences on the topic of glaucoma and glaucoma surgery. She is an executive board member of the Los Angeles Society of Ophthalmology and on the editorial board for Glaucoma Today as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology's EyeNet publication. She is also a member of multiple advisory boards for glaucoma surgical innovation as well as an Ambassador for the Glaucoma Research Foundation. She has been honored with awards throughout her training for her leadership, teaching and her research endeavors. She has been named 2017-2025 Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctors.
